How can we influence policymakers to implement the correct mechanisms that will allow repair and reuse to grow?
Delving into the world of repair and reuse in order to build a more circular economy has been fascinating. We started with challenges that addressed the role of influencers in shaping behaviours, and then to reintegrating repair and reuse into our culture. The work of our partners in these spheres has demonstrated that key to influencing behavioural change toward a circularity mindset is establishing networks, sense of community, and accessible tools that make repair and reuse choices easier, cheaper and more desirable. Yet there are still many challenges that stop repair and reuse from becoming the default.
We have learned that although there are so many impactful organisations in this space, the lack of governmental support and incentives to aid the transition to a circular economy stunt impact at scale. This has led us to question how we can back initiatives that affect structural change that will allow networks of repair and reuse to grow. We hope to find solutions that make repair and reuse easy and accessible to everyone in their day-to-day lives; establishing this as the new norm. Whatever your initiative, we are keen to find out more!
